True Faith Community
SCC opens our first Discipleship House
Years of praying, planning and waiting have finally yielded our first opportunity to open True Faith Community home for ladies through Southside City Church. Wednesday, October 5, 2011 we signed the lease on a four bedroom house in the Fairmount Neighborhood, near the church.
Lori Jankowski, SCC member has agreed to serve as the onsite overseer for the women’s discipleship house. We are able to receive up to four women into the home, allowing them the opportunity to grow in their relationship with God, gain stability in their finances, relationships, sobriety and an overall ability to live independent of government assistance. It is the Lord’s heart to restore and revive these precious women who are in need of healing and True Faith Community will provide them a place of comfort, care and compassion as we celebrate our faith and share life together.
Opportunities to get involved
Starting October 10, teams will paint, clean, install blinds, furnish and prepare the home for our ladies to move in on November 1, 2011. We are still in need of a gas stove/oven, four ceiling fans, 22” blinds for the many windows in the house, a kitchen remodel and a bathroom addition. If you or your church or small group is interested in helping prepare the house, contact me at Darrel@southsidecitychurch.com or Lori at lori@southsidecitychurch.com.
Sponsorships for the Ladies
The monthly life fee for each lady entering True Faith Community is $400.00. The first 90 days are sponsored by family, friends and churches or those wishing to donate to a life fee. Beginning on day 91, each resident will be responsible for their own life fee, allowing new women to come into the community and begin a new life. This fee covers all the basic expenses of the house including, housing, utilities and food.
If you would like to sponsor a life fee in full or partial, please contact Darrel@southsidecitychurch.com or lori@southsidecitychurch.com for more information.
Pray for the opportunity to open a Men’s discipleship house by the end of 2011.
